Ad No. 1202778 NATURAL BAREFOOT TRIM{message_result}
description NATURAL BAREFOOT TRIM simulates the condition horses were born with and with which Mother Nature intended.This trimming method imitates the hoof traveling 20 or more miles a day in a hard, harsh, terrain environment. Horse shoes limit the amount of blood flow that is pumped in and out of the hoof which causes the hoof to have very limited flex ability, causing as much as 75% loss of shock absorption! Don't be confused with a farrier's pasture or field trim. This type of trim often makes the horse sore: 1.The heels are left long, encourages contraction, toe-first landing, and navicular pain. 2.The toe callus is trimmed away--a thin sole doesn't protect the coffin bone. 3.The bottom of the wall is left flat, as if preparing for a shoe. This encourages flaring in the barefoot hoof. Flares are painful, like pulling really hard on your own fingernail. 4.A field trim often ignores the forward-flared toe, leaving a stretched white line and poor coffin bone suspension, thus the horse is sore on gravel and on rocky trails. We ride our horses barefoot over Tennessee's terrain, as do other horses on the Natural Barefoot Trim. You won't slip and slide on rocks, you won't have to walk back to camp because your horse threw a shoe, and yes---you can ride on pavement, too! I am courteous, punctual, will phone to verify appointments and let you know if I'm on schedule-- and I do not believe in striking your horse to correct misbehavior--I do the Natural Horsemanship Training method of correction. Give me a call to discuss your horse's feet and ferrier's needs. $45 for the first visit $35 for follow-up maintenance James Funk 931-316-0318 ![]() |
